Hi, my name is Amanda. I'm a registered nurse here at Desert Recovery Centers, original Midwesterner, but consider it a Phoenician now. I have been a nurse for the last 6 years, and have really enjoyed my time in the mental health world the last 2 years. The thing I like about doing this specifically with Desert Recovery Centers is our holistic approach and the passion that my team members bring. I also spend time educating clients on their medications, as well as helping them understand how their mental health and substance abuse connects to their physical health. I found desert recovery centers through a colleague in the field, and working here has really given me the satisfaction, being able to actually see the progress and the change. So if you're struggling with substance abuse, addiction, anxiety, depression, anything mental health related. Please reach out. We have an amazing, passionate, caring team here who is ready to help. As a younger man, I was always a good athlete, and I had played Division 1 college baseball, and as I worked my way through that time as an athlete, I also, my alcoholism and addiction issues started kicking up as well, and that ended my career as an athlete. And it wasn't until 25 years later, when I finally started to address my issues in an honest way, that I finally felt like there's something missing in my program. I don't know what it is, so I got back into the gym. And it was through that process of reconnecting with myself physically that I found my true North again. That's why you can go into the gym and beat yourself up and feel like crap physically, but you feel great emotionally. And I tell our clients this is free therapy. Recovery, progress, healing isn't always linear, as an answer to the question, what is your purpose and passion in life, and once you can say me, I am my purpose and passion in life, that's when everything falls into place. That's when it happened for me. When I became my purpose, when I became my passion, don't hesitate to ask, the most courageous thing that you can do in your life is to say, Hey, I need help, because people will answer the call. Hi, I'm Ajuni. I work with clients on kind of building coping skills and kind of teaching them about the more clinical side of psychology. I came into this line of work because I love to hear about people's experiences and what's been going on for them in terms of their different life experiences, and, you know, the ways they've tried to cope with challenges in their lives. And I think part of my role really helps in illuminating all the different choices that they've made and helping them kind of figure out what they want to do next. If you're ever going through difficult times in your life, and you're not sure where to start. I think our clinical team makes a really good job at helping you find out what you can work on. And I think here, you get to learn a lot about yourself. So if you're ever needing any support, come to DRC.

Here, DRC, of course, we're always highlighting and talking about our clinical psychologist, our doctoral trained therapist, our evidence based care. One part of a DRC, which is kind of the heartbeat, is our staff, right? Our BHT staff that are outside of all the clinical care our clients are receiving, there, with our clients, 24/7. And for us, it's so very important, who we bring on, to work with us here at DRC, because we want to make sure that they're trained, right? That they understand a mental health primary facility, and what that looks like. Our staff is an extension of our clinical team. So they receive hours of training. Every week, right? Even before they're on board with us, because they have to be aligned with our clinical staff, and understanding how to work with our clients, and always providing the highest level of care.
